• I have been studying saxophone for over 15 years and have played countless professional gigs as a bandleader and sideman. I hold a BM in jazz performance from McGill University and have a love for jazz, funk, blues, rock, indie, folk, free improvisation and fusion music. Although known for my tenor, I also play alto sax, baritone sax, flute, and EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument). As an EWI player for the past 9 years, I have been developing a midi synth performance rig allowing me to play any sounds needed by the gig, do live looping, trigger samples, and be a “one-man-band”. As a sideman, my intention is to be in service of the band that hires me, often thinking on my feet to fill out arrangements or take impromptu solos to get out of sticky situations. I am also available to record saxophone tracks remotely or in the studio.

  • I feel most at home when behind a console or placing mics. I hold an MA in recording and production from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. My experience ranges from concert recordings, live streams, session tracking, podcasts, boom operator/sound mixer for film, and location recording. The majority of my experience is in classical and jazz recording, but I have worked in many other genres. I am always experiments and pushing boundaries to find new and interesting sounds and developing my craft. Depending on the session, my techniques will vary wildly depending on the needs of the music. Professional recording isn’t cheap, and time is usually one of the biggest factors, so one of my main focuses is being fast and efficient. As a lead or assistant engineer, I will always try to have mics up and a pot of coffee ready before clients arrive.

  • I have worked in a variety of genres spanning from jazz, funk, rock, indie, folk, chamber music, theater, opera, immersive audio and many more. My approach to mixing is to bring out the absolute best of the music I am mixing. My job is to not impose my art, but highlight yours. I love creative techniques and interesting sounds when appropriate, but I can be a chameleon behind the board. I always like to start by having a meeting with my client about their ideas for the song and what they are looking for. I send rough mixes expecting feedback on what is working and what needs improvement. I then start on the revisions. Towards the final stages of mixes, I always like to have an attended mixing session where small details are discussed in-person or remotely. I will provide stereo mixes or stems depending on your needs, and I am always available to call during the process. Turn-around time can vary, but you can expect the first rough mix within 3-5 days.

  • I have built a 24-track recording rig that is a “studio in a cart”. If you have a quiet space, I can show up and make a recording. I have a good assortment of high-quality microphones and clean preamps/conversion for professional recordings. My rig is designed for concert recording, home studio sessions, audition tapes, podcasts, live-streaming, and much more. If you are local to NYC or if you are further away, I am more than willing to travel to make recordings. For more information on technical specifications, please visit the location recording page on the website.

  • I can provide very affordable mastering services because I am looking to gain more experience in this field. I have mastered professionally in a variety of genres and strive for quality control and transparency. I don’t intend to change the sonics of your track, only to tailor the audio for distribution. As with mixing, I love to have attended mastering sessions either in-person or remote. For mastering, please send me either stems or stereo mixes at their native resolution and have your metadata ready for embedding (please email with questions).

  • With the dissemination of audio technology and knowledge, I encourage everyone to enjoy the art of recording themselves and others. In some critical situations though, issues that are recorded can be very hard to manage in post-production. When it becomes impossible to re-record, please consider reaching out for any audio repair needs. This can include electrical interference, air conditioners, squeaky chairs, car horns, clicks, page turns, sample rate issues, too much reverb, or just “can you make this sound good”. I have worked in audio repair on audition tapes, podcasts, classical recordings, theater and concert recordings, opera, solo guitar and game design. If you are curious if your project could use help or you are an audio professional looking to hire out these services, please send me an email with the track and what you would like repaired.

  • One of my favorite hats that I wear is to produce independent artists and bands. In today’s terms, “producer” can mean many things. I have worked with artists to find musicians and studios to work with, produced classical musicians to help with performance and organization, made tracks from scratch with the collaboration of a singer, and co-written tracks with clients. I have a vast library of sounds and virtual instruments to work with, and more importantly a network of musicians and engineers to connect with to make your idea a reality. My background as a musician and audio engineer positions me well to produce in a wide variety of settings. I can produce sessions remotely or in-person and am happy to both engineer and produce on all projects.

Thank you for your interest and visiting my website. I have a variety of skills and wear many hats. Please see below for services I can provide.
